Water Conservation’s Waste Not, Want Not

Let’s take a moment to talk about something that is really important about water and that is your water usage. Perhaps it would be more apt to say your water waste. All of us waste water to some extent, although it is really important to avoid it as much as possible for water conservation. Imagine if you went to get a drink of water and there was none! That’s what is starting to happen in cities in India and South Africa.

Water Conservation

Water is a vital but limited natural resource. The natural world can replenish the water supply, but that takes time. In addition, too many people can overstress the ability of a region to replenish its water supply.

We don’t want to waste it because while the planet has areas of vast water, only 1% of that water is safe to drink. Not only is this important for us in the form of drinking water, but also for the entire eco-system upon which we depend.

What Can Be Done About Waste?

One good thing is that it is easy to avoid wasting water. Some simple things are turning off the faucet when you are brushing your teeth. Showering instead of bathing also saves water.

Notice a leak? Call in a plumber so that you don’t waste water from that leak because even a small slow leak is wasting gallons of the precious fluid. If you’re looking to purchase a new house, consider building to help to conserve water and avoid waste.
