We’re coming into the holiday season and we all know it is a time for food, fun, and family time. One of the great things about the holidays is how they can bring a family together. Family time might mean S.O.S. or Do-it-Yourself plumbing!
After all, you’re increasing how much food everyone is eating and you are increasing how many people are using the same plumbing system. This creates a lot of potential for unfortunate situations that can really clog up the holiday fun.

So, let’s say you have all this extra food and extra people and your plumbing clogs up. Hopefully it is something simple that you can deal with personally. However, sometimes it is more serious, and you need to bring in an expert.
Unfortunately, there’s usually someone who considers themselves an expert even if they’re not. There’s a plumbing story that has made the rounds and see if this sounds like something that could happen to you.
A Do-it-Yourself Plumbing Problem
So, this family was having a nice holiday, but the cooking went awry. They shoved the burned mess that wasn’t quite describable into their sink. This clogged up the drain. One gentleman thought he knew the solution and decided to travel to the store and purchase a device that was a cross between a shotgun and a plunger.
This now banned device has a CO2 projectile in it and could be fired six times. So, you would just stick it into the drain, and fire the cartridge which would then clear the drain. However, it came with six cartridges and this man, not the kind of man to do things by halves, decided to keep firing until all the cartridges were out.
Now, this did clear the drain, but this home was a converted, which means that the plumbing was shared with a neighbor. The unidentifiable mess didn’t go down the drain, it went sidewise through the plumbing and ended up on the neighbor’s ceiling.
Ruined Family Time
